submissions hiatus

an important announcement

There’s no easy way to say it: Third Coast Magazine is going on indefinite hiatus. We’ll be publishing the two issues that we’ve already accepted content for–Issues 49 & 50–but those will be our last issues for the foreseeable future.

This hiatus is a result of budget constraints on our campus, Western Michigan University. Our greatest joy at Third Coast has been reading and publishing new work by so many talented writers. We are thankful to our editors, readers, designers, publishers, faculty advisors, business managers, advisory editors, and everyone who has been a part of our work. And we are especially thankful to the amazing writers who have trusted us with their writing over the years.

Our site will stay up and previous issues will continue to be available for purchase for as long as possible. While we’ll be closed to new submissions, we hope that you enjoy newfound gems in our previously published issues. And at some point—hopefully sooner rather than later—we’ll be open for submissions again, ready to publish new work.
